Boathouse Clubroom

The Foundation has been challenged to raise funds to refurbish the boathouse clubroom. The School, the rowing club and rowing fraterntiy will benefit from the planned much needed improvements to existing facilities. It will create a multi-purpose meeting facility allowing events to be hosted at the water's edge. Construction will commence once funds have been rasied. The annual Foundation and 1552 Society Members Reception was held in the Moser Library at The Schools, immediately following the School Carol Service on 4 December. The Carol Service was as always a lovely Christmas occasion. The reception was well attended and there was an address by the Headmaster. Seasonal refreshments were served and the event was enjoyed by all those who attended.

A Reception was held for Fellows of the Foundation at Dartmouth House in London. Mark Turner, the Headmaster, and Andrew Haining, the Chairman of the Foundation addressed those present.

2011 Telephone Campaign

The Foundation is pleased to report that over the summer break, our fifth telephone campaign was held.  Once again this year the campaign was extremely successful. With the dynamic efforts of 14 callers compromised of VIth formers and recent school leavers, we raised £180,000 for the Annual Fund, with the majority of Old Salopians donating to bursaries.

As all are aware, all annual gifts really do make a difference to the experience of our pupils, and ensure that Shrewsbury remains at the forefront of UK and world education.

We would like to thank all those who took the time to speak to one of our youg Salopians and in particular those who made a gift to the School.  All who contributed will be asked to join an Annual Giving Society.
